The Prediction.....

It's here. The "Big Game".

All of you know the immense connection I have for football, how it affects my life, and how the sport itself offers me the amazing opportunity to serve my community six months a year by coaching.

There is no other "team sport" on Earth that DEMANDS everyone to be on the same page. TOGETHER.

Two really great people, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees, will quarterback their respective teams and it should be a wild game. Both men are at the top of their profession.

Conventional wisdom, after all the data is in, points to Manning and the Colts winning.

But I've never been a very conventional guy.

The X-factor in this game isn't the Saints Reggie Bush like most thing. For me, the X-factor is the city of New Orleans itself.

If a city ever NEEDED a Superbowl win. It's this city.

A touching, and inspiring finish to the horrible disaster that happened in 2004.

It's impossible to be the Saints players and not feel the energy the city is feeding them through this run.

A final exclamation point that New Orleans is back from tragedy.

It'll be enough.

Saints 30
Colts 24

THANK YOU for your vote of confidence. Trav and I have been completely unified in cheering this team on and this season has been amazing.

I became a Saints fan after my trip to New Orleans after the storm. I saw some crazy shit - homes destroyed, pets exhumed from 5 feet of mud...it was horrible. And looking for something to feel good about, a lot of people said "at least we got the Saints"

Fan for life.

WHO DAT?!

I'm all for getting behind the Saints for all of the reasons mentioned above. They have been through a shit storm, and they deserve it.

But that Who Dat shit has got to stop. It's annoying as fuck.

The End

Shane, Thank you so much. I read your blog everyday but there has not been one better than this. Living in New Orleans, you live with Katrina everyday. The Saints in the Superbowl is one of the most amazing things. It has brought this city even closer together and with this in the middle of Mardi Gras, the city is alive like it hasn't been in awhile. Thanks for the confidence and support.

Sorry Papeete but WHO DAT!

slight correction: Hurricane Katrina hit NOLA in 2005.....I will never forget that year, b/c I was living in NOLA, and 2005 has, so far, been the worst year of my life.

P.S. love your blog, Shane
